Chinese Whispers 2

Monday 17. 7:00 pm Beijing Time

After a 12 hour long journey from Karachi, I reached Beijing at 4:00 pm. Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) is a huge airport, very big. It’s the largest airport I have seen so far. Has 3 very big terminals.

Met with the Meet & Greet Service person who guided us through arrival procedures. After clearing immigration and collection of luggage, left for hotel – Grand Millennium Hotel Beijing located at Central Beijing District (CBD). But guess what, as soon as we got out of the airport building there was traffic jam everywhere. Long and endless lines of cars. Evening office traffic. It took us an hour to reach the hotel.

The hotel is located in a business district, surrounded by shopping malls and hotels. My room was pre-checked-in so I was escorted straight into the room. It is a decent room. I took a relaxing shower and prepared for dinner.

View from the hotel window.

All to assemble in hotel lobby at 7:30 to proceed to an Indian restaurant, Ganges Restaurant, located nearby. The food was delicious; we ordered the Bar-B-Q platter, chicken karahi, chicken with butter curry, prawn masala, butter paratha and nan.

Cold breeze forced everyone to wear jackets.

Tomorrow morning meeting will begin from 7:30 am till lunch and then we will proceed to – The Great Wall of China.

Sounds interesting, can’t wait.
